IXU – Ion eXchange Unit
The service-friendly ion-exchange units of the IXU series are used to treat fire-resistant hydraulic and lubrication fluids based on phosphate esters (HFD-R) and polyolesters (HFD-U). They effectively remove acidic degradation products generated by hydrolysis and/or oxidation of the fluid and metal soaps contained in the fluid. The power units are used with flow rates of up to roughly 9 l/min in the bypass flow of hydraulic and lubricating oil tanks. IXUs are available in mobile and stationary designs. The IXUs use HYDAC’s own Ion eXchange (IXE) elements, which are filled with ion-exchanger resins.
