HYDAC – 50 international subsidiaries, One DNA

Founded in Saarland, Germany in 1963 as “Gesellschaft für Hydraulikzubehör” (Company for Hydraulics Accessories) and run as a family company, HYDAC has never stopped improving. HYDAC now has 50 international subsidiaries, roughly 500 sales and service partners, 14 product lines and around 10,000 employees worldwide.

HYDAC Technology Ltd is a UK registered company founded in 1976, and is a subsidiary of the HYDAC Group in Germany.  Originally formed as a distribution point for HYDAC’s products in the UK, the company has steadily grown and now has its own network of distributor service companies within the UK and Ireland. The company has its own design and manufacturing facilities in Witney and Charlbury in Oxfordshire and employs over 135 people within the UK and Ireland

HYDAC’s expertise extends beyond the typical understanding of hydraulics, systems and fluid engineering. We are committed to providing all-inclusive solutions that span industrial sectors and are sustainable and above all customer-oriented. Employee EmpowermentHYDAC Engagement Team

The HYDAC Engagement Team (HET) is designed to empower employees to drive positive change within the company. HYDAC recognizes the importance of continuous improvement and the role that its employees play in driving this change. The HET provides employees with the tools, resources, and support they need to identify areas for improvement and lead projects that increase efficiency and drive results.

The HET work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions. Together they look to address business challenges through analysing engagement survey results and creating objectives to drive change.

Jasmine Lab Technician within Fluid Care

As a recent addition to the team at HYDAC Technology, I am excited about the opportunity to further my understanding of the hydraulic industry and apply the knowledge gained from my degrees and previous work experiences to my current role. One of the things I enjoy most about my job is the variety of tasks and challenges that come with providing professional services to a diverse range of customers. This allows me to hone my problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills while also utilizing my scientific expertise.

Working alongside my colleagues at HYDAC has been a pleasure, as the supportive and friendly atmosphere motivates me to contribute my best efforts each day. I thoroughly enjoy being part of a team that is dedicated to providing exceptional service and am proud to be a part of the HYDAC family.

Zuzanna Production Operative

As a production assembly worker I have a vital responsibility for the Accumulator section. My main role is to charge the accumulators to meet our customers' exact specifications. This is an essential aspect of maintaining pressure, storing and recapturing energy, and reducing pressure peaks. I enjoy working with my collegues in a professional and cooperative environment as well as being given opportunities to develop my skill set and gain more experience.

I find it particularly rewarding to know that the accumulators I work on play such a crucial role in a wide range of hydraulic machinery, including diggers, excavators, and agricultural equipment. These accumulators are vital for dampening shock, vibration, and pulsations and it feels good to know that my work contributes to making these machines function smoothly and efficiently. Overall, I enjoy the satisfaction of working on something that has such a tangible impact on a diverse range of machinery and industries.

Simon Design & Development Engineer

I joined HYDAC as a Design and Development Engineer after completing my apprenticeship in hydraulics. I gained extensive experience in various departments, which gave me a comprehensive understanding of how a company works. Now, I design and develop new hydraulic products and support the production departments at HYDAC. I work with experienced professionals in the industry and have worked on exciting projects such as a manifold assembly for the renewable energy market and with OEM Companies in the oil and gas industry.

I am part of a great technical team with vast experience, ensuring that the solutions offered to customers are of the highest quality.

Sue and Heather Senior Assembly Worker and Assembly Worker

As a senior assembly worker  I have the ability to train others and pass on my knowledge to newer members of the team. I work alongside Heather, who is an assembly worker learning new and different jobs within the department. We both find the job extremely rewarding due to the strong sense of camaraderie within our team.

One of the best aspects of the role is the variety of work we undertake, which means that we are constantly challenged and every day is different. Additionally, we appreciate the independence the role affords us, as it allows us to work autonomously and take ownership of our tasks. Overall, it's an enjoyable and fulfilling position that keeps us engaged and motivated.

 

Janet and her Team HR Team

I joined HYDAC as HR Manager in August 2017, having previously worked in both the public and private sectors for over 25 years.  My primary focus is on creating a positive and supportive working environment for all employees. To achieve this I ensure that all HR policies and procedures are implemented fairly and consistently across the organisation.  I am passionate about employee development, and work closely with Managers across the business to identify training needs, and provide employees with the resources and support they need to achieve their full potential.

Alongside me on the HR team are Brynn, Lucré and Nicola.  Being part of the HYDAC Technology team is a source of pride for us all and we are dedicated to ensuring that every employee feels valued and supported in their work.

Richard System Division Manager

My career started in 1979 as a technician apprentice for another large hydraulics company.   Having worked for the industries major manufacturers I am now in my 8th year of working for HYDAC Technology, the last 6 of which have been as Manager of the Systems Division.

Working for a global manufacturer of industry leading hydraulic products, gives us the tools we need to find system solutions to customer applications, using products within the  HYDAC range.

The vast product range, together with the knowledge of colleagues, ensures that we are all constantly learning and makes everyday different and interesting.
